Being a part of the Navy is an incredible honor. But it also means that navy spouses often have to juggle the demands of their own careers with the demands of military service. My Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) are designed to help ease the burden on navy spouses by providing financial assistance for approved educational and career training programs.

What is MyCAA?

MyCAA is a career development and employment assistance program that provides financial assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials necessary to gain employment in high-demand, high-growth portable career fields and occupations. The program provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing degrees, licenses or credentials from accredited colleges, universities and technical schools.

Who is Eligible for MyCAA?

The program is available to spouses of active-duty and activated members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. The military service member must be on Title 10 orders and their rank must be E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to O-2. The spouses must also have a high school diploma or equivalent.

What Types of Programs Are Covered?

MyCAA covers a wide range of educational and career training programs that are necessary for gaining employment in high-demand, high-growth portable career fields and occupations. These include programs in business, computers and technology, health care, education and teaching, and much more.

How Do I Apply?

Applying for MyCAA is easy. You can apply online or by phone. Once you’ve completed the application, you’ll need to provide the necessary documentation, such as a copy of your military identification card and a copy of your spouse’s orders. After your application has been approved, you can begin searching for an approved school and program.

What Other Benefits Does MyCAA Offer?

In addition to providing financial assistance, MyCAA also provides career counseling and workshops. These are designed to help you with career goal setting and job search strategies, as well as to provide guidance on choosing the right educational and career training program.

Making the Most of MyCAA

MyCAA can be a great resource for navy spouses looking to pursue their educational and career goals. It’s important to make the most of the program by researching schools and programs, applying for financial assistance, and taking advantage of the career counseling and workshops offered. With the help of MyCAA, navy spouses can reach their educational and career goals with confidence.
