3 Courses · Complete Curriculum
Each course builds on the last — from foundational medical assisting knowledge to real-world clinical experience.
The Electrocardiography Fundamentals course provides a comprehensive introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the heart. The course covers the normal electrical conduction of the heart and the variations that can occur, as demonstrated by changes in the waveform on a cardiac monitoring strip. Students will learn to identify normal and abnormal EKG rhythms.
This course builds on EKG fundamentals with advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, and 12-lead EKG analysis. Students will develop skills in recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias and understanding clinical interventions.
What You Will Learn
Identify normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms on EKG strips, operate EKG machines and apply electrodes correctly, interpret 12-lead EKGs and telemetry strips, recognize life-threatening arrhythmias requiring immediate intervention, prepare patients for cardiac monitoring procedures, and pass the NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam
