Our online phlebotomy classes  offer a full course that teaches you everything about phlebotomy. You'll learn how to collect blood, and handle samples. No matter your skill level, whether you're fresh out of high school or looking to grow your healthcare knowledge, our courses are right for you.

Our phlebotomy certification program prepares you for the NHA Phlebotomy Technician Certification Exam. This makes sure you have the important credentials for a successful career in phlebotomy. Being certified shows you're skilled as a phlebotomy technician and adds trust to your qualifications.

NHA Board Examination CPT Certification Program. Students will be eligible to take the CPT Board Examination upon completion of AlliedRx Institute of Healthcare CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) Program.

What You Will Learn

Anatomy and Physiology of the Venous System: Students will gain a deep understanding of the human venous system, including the major veins suitable for venipuncture. They'll learn about the structure and function of veins and the differences between veins, arteries, and capillaries.

Venipuncture Techniques:
‍This is the core skill of phlebotomy. Students will learn various techniques for drawing blood, such as the standard needle stick and butterfly needle methods. They'll also be trained in the proper order of draw, which is crucial for preventing cross-contamination between tubes.

Safety and Infection Control:
Phlebotomists are at the frontline of patient care, so it's essential they understand the importance of maintaining a sterile environment. Students will learn about the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe disposal of used needles and other sharps, and the protocols to follow in case of accidental needle sticks or exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Patient Communication and Education:
While technical skills are vital, phlebotomists also need to be adept at interacting with patients. Students will learn how to prepare patients for the procedure, address their concerns, and provide post-draw care instructions. Effective communication skills are essential, especially when dealing with anxious or nervous patients.

Phlebotomy Virtual Internship Requirements

Board Certification Requirements: Phlebotomy Technicians must complete a clinical of 30 venipunctures as a part of the Phlebotomy Technician clinical core requirements to graduate from our program. Each draw must be supervised and signed off on a blood draw log and externship forms that will be provided to the student.

Virtual Clinical Skills Lab: A virtual alternative is available for all Phlebotomy Technicians who enroll in a Phlebotomy Technician program. Students may also complete their clinical requirements using simulation kits in the program. Students will participate in Live Online Class Sessions with their instructors on phlebotomy techniques and corrections. The student will continue this process in the scheduled online class sessions until they have completed all 30 blood draws.

Prospective Students with Prior Experience
Students may submit a letter from their employer on company letterhead or a notarized resume as proof of experience in order to have their clinical requirements waived.
